Blaine Robert Design is a luxury interior design and build firm based in Kuala Lumpur. Known for masterfully balancing masculine and feminine elements, we design experiences that are rich, soulful and impossible to pin to a single era — a testament to an enduring, sophisticated design ethos.
Established in 2014, the studio began with high-end residential work and quickly earned the trust of clients, developers and architects to take on commercial, hospitality, gallery and show-unit projects across Malaysia and beyond. Founder Blaine Robert brings three decades of design experience — and a signature, unconventional eye — to every space we create.

Blaine Robert
Blaine Robert, originally from Canada, explored various parts of Asia before settling in Malaysia in 2005, where demand for his signature adventurous, unconventional designs led him to establish his base in Kuala Lumpur.
After graduating from the University of Calgary in 1986, he honed his craft over two years in Canada before relocating to Tokyo in 1988 — drawn by Japanese architecture and minimalist design — where he worked as a freelance designer for twelve years. His contributions to Malaysia’s interior design industry have earned him a prominent reputation and frequent invitations to judge the country’s most prestigious interior design and property award events.
Hafiz Natar
Hafiz Natar, a native of Kuala Lumpur, has built his career in design since earning a Diploma in Industrial Design from Universiti Teknologi MARA. His experience spans lighting, furniture, graphic and product design, and he has served as a guest lecturer at the International Islamic University (Kulliyyah of Architecture) and Universiti Putra Malaysia (Faculty of Architecture and Landscape Architecture).
A registered designer with the Malaysian Furniture Promotion Council (MFPC) and the Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB), Hafiz has been invited to spearhead both agencies’ Malaysian Furniture Identity initiatives and is co-author of “”101 Garden Designs for Terrace Houses.””
Sam Chua
Sam Chua, formerly a General Manager at a leading interior design and architecture firm, serves as Chief Design Consultant at Blaine Robert Design.
