Our Portfolio
Interior Design in Kuala Lumpur, Designed and Built by One Studio
Blaine Robert Design is an interior design and build studio headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, founded in 2014 by designer Blaine Robert. We design and deliver condominiums, penthouses and landed homes across the city, along with offices, showrooms and hospitality spaces. Design, joinery and construction stay with our own team, so one studio answers for the project from the first drawing to the day you move in.
Where We Work in Kuala Lumpur
More than 20 of the projects in our portfolio are in Kuala Lumpur, among them:
- residences at Four Seasons Residences in KLCC, Aira Residence in Damansara Heights, Park Regent in Desa ParkCity, Solaris Parq in Dutamas and TRX Residence
- a bungalow in Bukit Pantai, Bangsar and a terrace reconstruction in Ampang
- workplaces at Exchange 106 in TRX, Intermark and Tell 6 in Bangsar
How a Kuala Lumpur Project Runs
- 01Brief and space planningHow you live or work in the space, and a layout that fits it.
- 02Design development and technical drawingsMaterials, joinery and lighting, drawn to the detail the site builds from.
- 03ApprovalsIn a condominium, the management office signs off the works first, and we prepare the renovation application it asks for. On a landed home, structural changes and extensions go to Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), and we coordinate the drawings and the submission.
- 04Construction and supervisionOur own construction team builds it.
- 05HandoverBy the same team that designed it.
Condominium or Landed: What Changes
In a KL condominium the building sets the limits: the management office’s renovation rules, the strata title and what the structure allows. The design works inside them from day one. On a landed home the scope can reach the structure itself, which brings DBKL approval and our construction team into the project. Our residential interior design page covers both; for workplaces, see commercial interior design. What a project costs depends on its size, the joinery and the materials. Our interior design cost guide explains how that figure is built up in Malaysia.

“Blaine’s team has been with us for two residential projects and had never let us down.”
Every single detail is taken into account and it’s peace of mind all the time. Work progress is constantly updated… their after-service is great too — any defects or imperfections are completed swiftly.
“It was an excellent renovation journey experience with BRD from design to handover.”
It was a turnkey renovation where BRD handled everything… I only had to deal with BRD instead of managing and dealing with multiple contractors/suppliers. They have an excellent, friendly, accommodating and responsive team.
